UNIT DESCRIPTION
This unit introduces students to the concept of leadership within organisations. Students learn how to apply high ethical standards when analysing and evaluating leadership challenges and opportunities and the principles of corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
The unit focusses strongly on developing emotional intelligence and intrapersonal strategies that contribute to personal and professional growth. Students learn how to create personal and professional goals and action plans, how to apply time management strategies and how to contribute to productive interpersonal relationships and team outcomes.
Students also have opportunity to engage in professional networking and with guest speakers and learn how to apply a global perspective and understanding of cultural diversity within the workplace.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of this unit students will be able to:
- Applying high ethical standards when analysing and evaluating leadership challenges and opportunities
- Understand the principles of corporate social responsibility and sustainability
- Apply emotional intelligence and intrapersonal development strategies that contribute to personal and professional growth
- Contribute to productive interpersonal relationships and team outcomes
CERTIFICATION
The optional assessment tasks associated with this unit provide an opportunity for participants to consolidate their learning and to benchmark their understanding against the standard set by Chancellor Institute.
Participants enrolled in this unit who successfully complete the optional assessments will qualify for a grade, academic transcript and certificate of completion for that unit.
